This is a beautiful antique bowl
bearing the
white ware mark
VIENNA AUSTRIA
and the signature of the artist C. Herdeg.
Clara Herdeg had a china decorating studio in Chicago ca.1909-1911
(Ref. Encyclopedia of Pickard China)
The vase is
hand painted on both sides
and decorated with purple berries
and colorful foliage.
The handles and the scalloped border are
heavily gilded.
This imposing piece is
15" long with handles, 8" wide and 7 1/2" high
to the top of the handle.
No
chips, cracks nor repairs on this piece
. Very light wear on one of the handles.
A beautiful and very usable piece. Suitable as a
gift.
